The Role
The Senior Principal Software Development Engineer (Senior Principal SDE) is their most senior individual-contributor technical leader, responsible for cross-organisation technical strategy and the architecture of their most critical platforms and solutions.
Operating at the intersection of engineering, delivery, and business strategy, the Senior Principal SDE shapes how they builds and scales agentic AI systems across Asia Pacific.
They are a Frontier Systems Integrator building agentic AI systems for leading banks, telecommunications companies, insurers, and retailers across Asia Pacific. We work on high-impact problems for institutions operating the financial and digital infrastructure of the region.
What You Will Do
- Set cross-organisation technical strategy and long-range architecture direction for them.
- Own the architecture of the firm's most critical, complex, and strategic platforms.
- Guide technology bets, platform investments, and engineering strategy with business leadership.
- Provide definitive technical authority on the highest-risk enterprise programmes.
- Represent their engineering capability to senior client executives, partners, and the market.
- Grow and mentor Principal and senior engineers, and steward the firm's technical talent.
- Establish firm-wide engineering principles, standards, and reusable platform foundations.
- Partner with the executive team on capability, hiring, and delivery strategy.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a technical leader with distinguished engineering depth and a proven record of setting strategy.
- 15+ years of experience architecting and delivering large-scale production systems.
- Distinguished depth in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and enterprise platform engineering.
- Deep AWS mastery and experience with regulated, in-VPC, in-region enterprise deployments.
- Proven record setting technical strategy across an organisation or business unit.
- Strong background in regulated industries (banking, telco, insurance).
- Exceptional influence, communication, and executive stakeholder leadership.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required across all markets.
