Principal SDE Role Overview
This is a senior hands-on technical leadership role focused on architecture, engineering direction and delivery of large-scale production systems. You will work across multiple teams and engagements, setting technical standards, defining architecture and partnering with engineering, delivery and senior client stakeholders.
Defining architecture and technical strategy across multiple engagements, platforms and teams.
Leading the design of complex, large-scale and secure production systems for enterprise clients.
Setting engineering standards, reference architectures and best practices across teams.
Providing deep technical leadership on complex delivery, scalability, reliability and performance challenges.
Partnering with delivery leadership, architects and senior client stakeholders on technical direction and proposals.
Driving build-vs-buy decisions, technology selection and platform investment decisions.
Mentoring senior and staff engineers and helping raise engineering capability across teams.
Contributing reusable platforms, accelerators and frameworks that improve delivery at scale.
Championing effective use of AI tools across engineering productivity, testing, debugging, documentation and delivery.
What you’ll bring
Ideal Background and Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate the following experience and skills:
- Experience delivering and architecting production software at scale.
- Strong background in system design, distributed systems and cloud-native architecture.
- Extensive AWS experience, including security, networking and enterprise deployment patterns.
- Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams, platforms or business lines.
- Strong hands-on engineering credibility, not only high-level architecture.
- Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, telecommunications or insurance would be highly valued.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.
- Exposure to AI platforms, LLM applications, RAG, Agentic AI or enterprise AI systems would be advantageous.
- AWS Professional-level certifications would be a strong plus.
